Joseph L. Benson II, Esq. was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a childhood spent in Incline Village, NV (Lake Tahoe) and Reno, Nevada. His high school years at Earl Wooster High School in Reno saw him excel in football and track & field, achieving AAA All-State Football Champions status and making a mark as “AAA All State” in two skill positions. He continued his education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, earning a B.S. in Hotel Administration from the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration.
Joseph’s academic achievements placed him on the Dean’s Honor List, and he pursued international studies in San Miguel De Allende, Mexico.
Law called, and Joseph answered by obtaining his J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, CA, in 2000. His legal education included instruction by the late US Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia in international Constitutional law during a stint at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland.
Licensed to practice in Nevada since October 2000, Joseph started his career as an Associate at Benson, Bertoldo, & Baker from 2000 to 2003. In 2004, he co-founded Benson & Bingham, where he serves as the Founding Partner to this day. Joseph’s professional journey has been marked by thousands of successfully handled cases, trials in Justice, District, and Federal Court, and expertise in all aspects of Civil Tort Litigation.
A proud member of the Nevada Justice Association (NJA), American Bar Association (ABA), and Clark County Bar Association, Joseph has also been recognized in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and the “2022 Las Vegas Leading Lawyers” in Vegas magazine. His contributions extend beyond the courtroom, with features on NBC and ABC news as a contributor, along with newsworthy reports in the Las Vegas Review Journal.
